2013A slight delay in leaving
The day has come! After staying up till 1:30 AM working on the RV and the motorcycle, I was exhausted but still unable to fall asleep. This was the first time I can remember having this problem. Adrienne sent me a text around 2:00 to let me know that her layover flight was delayed due to poor weather conditions over the middle of the country. I tossed and turned all night until my alarm went off at 4:30 and I began getting up and gearing up for a dark, foggy ride to the airport on the motorcycle to pick her up. I got to the airport around 6:20 and her flight status stated that it was due in at 6:21. I waited and waited until the plane finally landed at 6:45. After a warm greeting, we took off back north for our new home, the Winnebago and the adventures to come.
While packing the RV, expecting to leave the following morning, we noticed some leaks that I didn’t notice or think were very important before. Except now, I realized that they were in fact important and that I could not ignore them. In addition, the night before I notice that the charging voltage was low on my way home from the farm. The voltage never came back up and it had me very concerned for making this long trip and knowing that this was now my primary form of transportation. Everything need to be fixed before we left. We took the next two days to plastic weld a crack in the windshield washer tank, replace the radiator, replace some broken and brittle coolant tees, install a new power steering pump, and have the alternator rebuilt. When we were done, Fermin, the Minnie Winnie, was a new beast. We breathed new life into this old heart and, now, we were safe to leave.

Adrienne smiling like the sun and packing like it was a life size game of Tetris and her life was on the line.
